Vietnam’s plastic products export sector has recorded significant growth over the past decade, positioning the country as one of the most dynamic players in the global plastics trade. Vietnam currently exports plastic products to more than 160 countries and territories, with major destinations including the United States, Japan, the European Union, Australia, and Canada. The industry benefits from competitive production costs, advanced manufacturing technology, and a skilled workforce, enabling Vietnamese plastic products to meet strict international standards and gain a strong foothold in demanding markets.

There are more than 2,000 plastic manufacturing companies operating across the country, producing a wide range of goods for consumer and industrial use. Key product categories include packaging materials (50% of total exports), household plastic goods (15%), and construction and engineering plastics (35%). Many enterprises have invested in modern equipment, eco-friendly materials, and sustainable production processes to enhance product quality and align with global environmental requirements. Vietnamese plastic products are recognized for their durability, precision, and cost-efficiency, making them highly competitive in both developed and emerging markets.

The export of plastic products is expected to expand steadily in the coming years, driven by trade agreements, rising global demand, and ongoing investment in innovation.
